It has a slightly balsamic and sweet nuance, more floral and herbal than anise.

In natural perfumery, basil is often used not as a standalone or main note but rather as a modifier,

Basil has a strong scent that can easily overpower other fragrances, so it's best to start blending with it in very small amounts.
