Fir Balsam Resinoid
Woody, Sweet, Warm, Pine
Fir Balsam Resinoid is a natural material derived from the hardened resin of the Canadian balsam fir (Abies balsamea). In North America, this tree is widely used as a Christmas tree and is loved for its distinctly fresh and warm scent that evokes the holiday season.
It carries the layered scent of crisp conifer needles and deep woody notes, conjuring the feeling of stepping into a space completely surrounded by wood—like a forest cabin or a treehouse made of timber.
Aromatic herbal nuances float lightly at the top, with a soft nuttiness reminiscent of pine nuts in the background. The natural resin brings a smooth, warm texture to the dry down, adding depth and staying power.
Unlike simple woody notes, it offers a unique character that is difficult to replicate with synthetic materials. Rich and full-bodied, this material brings a strong presence even in small amounts and blends especially well with woody, herbal, and balsamic accords, grounding the composition with ease.
