Ho Leaf Oil
Herbal, Floral, Rosewood, Woody
Ho Leaf Oil is a natural aromatic ingredient obtained from the leaves of Cinnamomum camphora, a tree belonging to the Lauraceae family. Primarily produced in China and other parts of East Asia, it is characterized by its soft floral aroma complemented by subtle woody nuances. Naturally rich in linalool, Ho Leaf Oil offers a fresh, clean floral scent with a delicate and harmonious character, making it a versatile ingredient in perfumery and various fragranced products.
Along with Ho Wood Oil, which is derived from the woody parts of the same tree, Ho Leaf Oil is recognized as an important natural source of linalool. Cinnamomum camphora occurs in several chemotypes, each distinguished by its dominant aromatic constituents. Unlike camphor-rich varieties, the linalool-rich chemotype has little of the strong camphoraceous character typically associated with camphor oil. This particular Ho Leaf Oil is a naturally derived material containing approximately 98% linalool, giving it a distinctly soft, clean, and refined floral aroma.
Ho Leaf Oil features a delicate, slightly sweet floral scent reminiscent of fresh flower petals, accompanied by light citrus and subtle woody undertones. While it shares the fresh and comforting character of lavender, it has less of the sharp herbal quality and instead offers a smooth floral-woody profile reminiscent of Rosewood. Its overall aroma is fresh, clean, and gently warm, allowing it to blend naturally with a wide variety of fragrance ingredients.
Ho Leaf Oil is often used to recreate the soft floral-woody character of Rosewood and is particularly suitable for floral, citrus, aromatic, and woody fragrance compositions. It blends beautifully with Lavender, Bergamot, Geranium, Cedarwood, and Sandalwood, adding softness, freshness, and a natural brightness to a fragrance. Widely used in perfumes, soaps, cosmetics, and home fragrances, Ho Leaf Oil is a valuable natural ingredient for creating clean, delicate floral notes with a subtle woody character.
