Making Cherry Blossom Candles
Introducing a method to create a new form of cherry blossom candle,
inspired by cherry blossom petals drifting across the blue water carried by the spring breeze.
We will guide you through the appropriate wax types and color techniques for each mold,
as well as recommend fragrance oils that are both heat-resistant and capable of evoking
a floral scent perfect for candle making.
Imagine the season when cherry blossoms are in full bloom and create a candle that captures its beauty.

Making Cherry Blossom Flowers
02-1. Measuring the WaxTo create an 11-cavity cherry blossom flower mold, measure approximately 30g of high-temperature paraffin 160 wax and melt it.
02-2. Dividing the Wax and Coloring It
To express cherry blossom colors with different color intensities, divide the melted wax into approximately 15g portions in paper cups. When the wax reaches 90°C, use blush pink pigment chips to color the wax for the cherry blossom hues.
* Since pigment chips have a high concentration and excellent color strength, adjust the color by adding small amounts at a time.
02-3. Pouring the Wax
When the temperature of the divided wax reaches 80°C, heat the cherry blossom silicone mold with a heat tool, then pour the wax into the mold. Adjust the amount of colored wax according to the desired cherry blossom color.
02-4. Completing the Cherry Blossom Flowers
Once the heat from the wax has cooled and it has fully solidified, remove the shape from the silicone mold to complete the cherry blossom flowers.

Making the Base Candle
03-1. Measuring the WaxTo use the Tigre base mold, measure approximately 100g of high-temperature paraffin 160 wax and melt it.
03-2. Coloring the Base Candle
When the temperature of the melted wax reaches around 90°C, add baby blue pigment chips to achieve the desired color.* Since pigment chips have a high concentration and excellent color strength, adjust the color by adding small amounts at a time.
* In the photo, 0.1g was used.
03-3. Adding Fragrance Oil
When the temperature of the melted high-temperature paraffin wax reaches around 85°C, add approximately 10g of fragrance oil, which is 10% of the 100g wax, and stir well.* In the photo, Garden Sweet Pea fragrance oil was used to enhance the floral feel of the cherry blossom candle while providing strong durability to the candle.
03-4. Pouring into the Tigre Base Mold
When the wax temperature reaches around 80°C, heat the silicone mold thoroughly with a heat tool, then fill the mold to the top with the colored wax. Afterward, leave it at room temperature and wait until the wax solidifies. Once it has solidified about 90%, carefully remove it from the mold. Then, use a metal pick to gently rotate and create a wick hole on the bottom, and allow it to fully harden.
03-5. Melting the Gel Wax
To create a watery effect inside the Tigre base mold, measure approximately 90g of transparent gel wax (HP) and melt it.* The amount of gel wax may vary depending on the size of the container, and since it can harden during use, it’s recommended to prepare a little extra.
03-6. Pouring the Gel Wax into the Completed Tigre Base Candle
When the temperature of the melted gel wax is between 100°C and 110°C, pour it into the fully solidified Tigre base candle. Once the gel wax has solidified about 90%, add white opal glitter to enhance the sparkle, according to your preference.* Glitter powder contains microplastics and aluminum, and its compatibility with fragrances has not been tested. For environmental reasons, it is not recommended to use it for creating finished products.
** The glitter is sold in small quantities for use in candle decoration techniques in workshop classes, but it is not recommended for certification for fragrance products.
04. Completing the Cherry Blossom Decoration
Once the gel wax has solidified and the Tigre base candle is complete, attach the cherry blossom petals using candle glue. If you want a floating effect, add the cherry blossom petals while pouring the gel wax.* In the photo, the stamen color of the cherry blossom petals was expressed using a gold Viva Deco candle pen.
** For the wick decoration, slowly wrap it around a metal pick and twist it, then carefully remove it.
