A holiday tree candle finished in splatter styleInspired by the sight of snow falling over winter trees, this guide introduces the creation of Holiday Tree Candles using the splatter technique.
Using the newly released set of four Holiday molds, you can craft tree-shaped candle objects in unique designs. The guide includes recommended wax amounts for each mold, color products that enhance the festive holiday mood, and easy-to-follow tips for the splatter technique.
01
Prepare the Materials
Holiday Object Silicone Mold Set, White Beeswax Pellets, Liquid Dye (Ivory, Hunter Green, Burgundy, Brown), Alcohol Ink (Snow Cap, Gold, Espresso), Red, White & Cinnamon Fragrance Oil, PC Round Tealight Cup (Standard Type), White Cotton Wick No.2 (Roll), Infrared Digital Thermometer, Wess Digital Electronic Scale (WZ-1D) 1g/3kg, Craft Heat Tool, Electronic Hot Plate, Wick Needle, Wick Clip, Glass Rod, Stainless Measure Cup 200ml
02
Measuring and Melting the Wax
#3 Tree Mold requires approximately 120g of wax.
Measure 120g of white refined beeswax and place it in a 200ml stainless steel measuring cup. Heat until fully melted.
* For molds with intricate details, blending paraffin and beeswax can help create a firm and smooth surface.
[Wax Requirements for Holiday Tree Silicone Mold Set]
#1 Tree Mold: approx. 115g, #2 Tree Mold: approx. 90g, #3 Tree Mold: approx. 120g, #4 Tree Mold: approx. 90g
03
Securing the Wick in the Mold
Thread a White Cotton Wick #2 onto a wick needle and secure it in the Holiday Tree Silicone Mold (#3 Tree Mold).
04
Coloring and Mixing Fragrance Oil
Use burgundy oil-soluble liquid dye to create the tree color.
(The amount of dye can be adjusted to achieve your desired color intensity.)
* Red Candle Coloring Tip for Christmas
It is recommended to mix red oil-soluble liquid dye with burgundy oil-soluble liquid dye.
At around 90°C, add fragrance oil at approximately 10% of the wax weight, and stir well to ensure the wax and oil are fully blended.
** In the photos, 12g of ‘Red White Cinnamon Fragrance Oil’ was used for 120g of wax.
05
Pouring the Wax
When the colored wax reaches about 85°C, fill the silicone mold completely.Hold the mold securely with your hand or support it with a used paper cup to prevent the wax from spilling.
Finally, use a wick clip to keep the wick centered.
06
Demolding
Once the silicone mold has completely cooled, gently pull the sides of the mold outward to create an air gap, then carefully remove the candle. Peel the mold away as if rolling it outward. Be careful not to apply too much force to avoid damaging the candle.
07
Creating the Splatter Effect
To create the splatter effect, pour a small amount of alcohol ink (Snow Cap) into a standard PC round tealight cup.Dip a brush into the alcohol ink, then lightly flick the brush across the finished candle in a crisscross motion to mimic the appearance of falling snow.
08
Finishing
Trim the wick at the base of the candle neatly, and tie the remaining wick at the top of the tree into a small loop to complete the candle.
